Formed around a simple wooden frame, this papier-mâché storage box is a delightful example of Chinese folk art. Crafted with old newspapers and dyed rice paper, the box would have been used for basic household storage. Delicate black papercuts trim the box with a pattern of flowers, while a large peony adorns the lid as an emblem of spring time and affection.
