Well-dressed ladies and spritely children engage in domestic pastimes in this brilliantly detailed porcelain vase. An example of wucai, or “five colors,” ware, this form of multi-colored porcelain begins with a piece that has already been fired with an underglaze of blue. The object is then overglazed with a variety of colors. Like this vase, wucai porcelain made during the latter Qing dynasty was often decorated with finely decorated motifs carefully outlined to give them a vivid quality.

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
