A charming example of provincial blue-and-white pottery, this petite lidded jar from the late Ming dynasty (1368-1644) is cloaked in a cool white underglaze and decorated with expressive blue brushwork of abstract florals. Shaped with a round body and a simple domed lid, the little jar shows its age beautifully, textured by a crackled finish and pitted wear.
