This 19th century petite bronze vase was intricately cast with finely detailed mythical dragons circling its neck. The Chinese dragon is a powerful symbol of good fortune and was often used to show rank and power. Dragons also represent relief and abundance and are thought to bring rain to parched lands. A fine vase like this would have been a collector's treasure originally used for ceremonies and rituals.
