This 19th-century round basin was carved by hand from a solid block of limestone, and like many Chinese designs, has an elegantly simple form. In China, rock as an element is classified as "yang" because it is strong, hard, durable, and "male." It is an element that is well balanced in traditional gardens by delicate flowers and lush greenery. A small drainage hole through its base turns this beautifully aged stone basin into the perfect garden planter.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
