The first Chinese Almanac (Tung Shing, meaning "victorious in all things") is said to have been written by the legendary Yellow Emperor circa 2600 BC. This edition is based on an early Qing-era edit. It is a lunar calendar and guide to which days are most auspicious for important occasions, such as weddings and official ceremonies.
