In 19th century China, government officials wore different hats to show their official rank—the styles changed depending on the season. This finely lacquered hat stand was hand crafted over 100 years ago as an artful way to store an important hat when it wasn’t being worn. Much more than functional, it is a sculptural object, inset-carved out of bamboo with a pierced quatrefoiled design elegantly finished with a carved beaded edge.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
