This limestone trough was made over a century ago and likely intended for horses. It has an elegantly simple form, characteristic of many Chinese designs. In China, rock as an element is "yang" because it’s strong, durable and "male." The delicate feminine flowers carved into the side give this basin a perfect balance between male and female, yin and yang. It would be a wonderful addition to any garden.
