Created by artist Taikkun Li exclusively for PAGODA RED, this limited edition hand-painted cola bottle is one of a series drawing on the rich tradition of Chinese blue-and-white ceramics. Fired at the historic Chinese imperial kilns of Jingdezhen, this cola bottle is hand-painted with a meandering floral vine, reminiscent of Ming-dynasty ceramic patterns. A manifestation of Western consumerism, the cola bottle is the perfect canvas for examining the changes in traditional Chinese art forms as a result of global cultural exchange. Whether displayed alone or collected as a group, each cola bottle is meant to be held and appreciated for its imagery, texture, and shape.

California-based artist Taikkun Li is a multimedia artist who studied at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing and at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. His work was recently selected to represent the contemporary evolution of Chinese ceramics at the University of New Mexico Museum.

Available to ship Wednesday, January 15, 2020. Currently on display through the 2020 Washington Winter Show.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
