Offered to an honored friend of the community to mark a moment and then hung prominently, this sign proclaims “prosperity for posterity” beautifully scripted in gold ink. Made of northern elmwood, the sign is covered all over with chips of mica, a mineral that was frequently used for its glistening properties during the 19th century in Fujian province. Honor a wall or lintel with its expressive calligraphy and painterly appeal.
