Red Lacquer Painting Table

This elegant elmwood painting table was crafted over a century ago by artisans in northern China. The broad tabletop provided an ideal surface for unfurling a scroll to compose poetry or calligraphy paintings. The table is beautifully proportioned with a simple frame, accented by humpback stretchers and subtle beading along straight legs.
