Japanese obi began as humble silk sashes meant to gather kimonos at lengths appropriate to the wearer's stature. Over the centuries they took on more and more elaborate roles, frequently ending up more desirable than the kimonos they accompanied. The vibrant colors and precise needlework inspired one of our local artisans to repurpose a 19th-century obi sash as the decorative field for this down throw pillow. The result is an eye-catching piece of textile art for the modern home.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
