This container was made over a century ago in Mongolia to store grains. It was made to last: the sturdy pine wood slats tightly joined, with wood bound knots helping to secure them in place. Beauty and, even more, meaning were not lost in it's utility--the shape of the knots are recognized as "forever knots", a symbol associated with love and eternity. The container shows some signs of wear that attest to its age and use.
