This 19th century stacked chest from Shanxi, China was commissioned to commemorate the wedding of a new bride and likely given as part of her dowry. It's meticulous design carved with a detailed lattice pattern is a tribute to her family’s elegance and good taste. Two people would have carried the box with a long pole inserted through the round iron hardware attached to the carved triangular frame.

“I am particularly fond of PAGODA RED as we have known the family for so long. Betsy is a professional in every way and her intelligent taste comes from a long line of family knowledge in the arts. She and her team are the very best to work with and we find treasures with every visit!”
