Used more for social interactions than everyday imbibing, this Mongolian libation cup accompanied a scholar to social gatherings held by literati known as “yaji.” As part of these stimulating confabs, scholars would discuss and execute paintings and calligraphic works, sipping inspiration spirits from libation cups. A segment of curved horn describes the shape of the simple, unadorned cup, its direct connection to nature being a central tenet of scholarly aesthetics. We love its timeless organic appeal as a vase or decorative object.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
