Exquisite embroidery create a fantastical backdrop for the mystical dragons that adorn this 19th-century Chinese robe. Depicted with great detail and fancy, golden dragons twist and twirl their way across the garment, through a celestial realm of otherworldly swirls, ruyi-shaped clouds, and frothy waves. Created during the Qing Dynasty when rules on apparel were strictly followed, this lovely silk garment would have been immediately recognized as belonging to a person of great status and rank. We’ve presented the robe in a clean, black frame, preserving the garment as an extraordinary example of textile art.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
