Entitled "Fulla," this black-and-white etching wonderfully captures the expressive style of contemporary artist Antoni Tàpies. Considered one of the most important Spanish painters of the 20th century, Tàpies worked in a range of mediums to cultivate a unique visual language of spirited movements and gestural marks. Informed by the Surrealist and Art Informel movements of the mid-20th century, his abstract expressionist works are impassioned and unrestrained, a graceful balance between rough and delicate, linear and organic.

Antoni Tàpies participated in the Venice Biennale four times and exhibited in cities including Paris, London, Barcelona, Brussels, Berlin, Tokyo, Zürich, and New York. His work belongs in the collections of the Centre Pompidou, Moderna Museet, the Kunstmuseum Basel, the Fondation Beyeler, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Tate.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
