Framed by a scalloped apron, a delicate painted panel of lotus blossoms adorns the front doors of this early 20th century chest from Mongolia. A graceful heron stands amidst the lotus flowers, a traditional motif that conveys the blessing "may your path be always upwards." Originally opening from the top, the cabinet has been reconfigured with doors outfitted with traditional hinges and brass teardrop pulls. The chest's green finish has aged beautifully, adding rich character and color to the home.
