This unusual stone pedestal is actually a late 19th-century cylindrical mill stone. Hand-carved of solid limestone with a textured and ribbed surface, the stone was used for threshing wheat and other grains on a farm in China's Shanxi province. The heavy stone roller would have been pulled, by man or ox, across a grain harvest to separate grain from the straw and chaff. Shortened for use as a seat or side table, the limestone column has a minimalist form that blends effortlessly into any interior.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
