Dated to the late 19th century, these petite ladies' chairs combine the low, square backs of traditional rose chairs with the round frames and cabriole legs of waisted display tables. Each chair features an open back with shallow arms, curved to match the contours of the round seat. Favoring the inherent beauty of huali rosewood, the chairs are decorated only by scrollwork on the aprons and a beaded edge trimming each leg. Placed beside a vanity or accenting a parlor, these unusual seats elevate their surroundings with effortless sophistication.

From the collection of Frances and Gary Comer.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
