Each of these early 20th century teak curved armchairs, from the Chinese port city of Tianjin, is clearly influenced by the wave of the Art Deco movement that swept through the city during the 1920s and 1930s, when there was a large European community living and working there. They are built with sophisticated mortise and tenon joinery. The backs are separate panels that can be easily slid out of the structure, making them easy to transport when they were first constructed. Working with local artisans, we've added cushions upholstered in Mongolian lambswool.

Not only can they balance new furnishings (and often new construction) by feeling more established, but the pieces emanate a sense of rich history, often leaving you wondering where they were in a previous life. These beautiful pieces carefully hand-selected by the team at PAGODA RED, coupled with their unbelievable customer service, make them a must-have for any home.”
