This early 19th-century Chinese stool features a burled linden top with a richly swirled grain. A single burl was hand-carved to create the stacked design of the sides and seat. The stool has round splayed legs and a texture that calls to be touched, achieved through hundreds of years of use. The feng deng form, which translates literally to "square stool" was popular for its simplicity and utility in the home. This feng deng was acquired from a collector who is keenly attentive to the way unusual timbers and form come together in exceptional ways.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
