The restrained silhouette of this low Japanese table beautifully showcases the extraordinary patterning of the lacquered table top. In a traditional lacquer technique known as tsugaru-nuri, red lacquer flecked with bits of shell and gold powder was carefully poured over the wooden surface and sanded to reveal a gorgeous marbled effect. The captivating top is contrasted by simple square legs that fold upwards under the table top. A fantastic example of Japanese lacquerware, we love this piece as a low bench or coffee table.
