This early 20th-century low waisted table from China's Anhui province is trimmed with an elegant "water stopping" beaded edge and cloaked in a beautifully aged lacquer finish. The top is finely painted with the eight treasures of the Chinese scholar, which celebrates study and success. This top is married to a hand-carved stand, with aprons continuous with C-shaped legs and floor stretchers.
