Both a functional piece of furniture and an intriguing sculpture, this ceramic pedestal is a statement-making centerpiece in any room. Mixing terracotta and ebony hues, the pedestal is carefully constructed of ropes, slabs, and smears of clay. The mix of textures is extraordinary, from rope-like appliques that structure the bas to highly detailed, embossed images of beetles and flowers that decorate the top. Part of a body of work that’s been called “unique and strange,” the table was created by Wisconsin artist Michael Gross, whose figurines, vessels, and furniture pieces have been widely collected and featured in museum exhibitions around the country.

“Over the years, I’ve incorporated many pieces from PAGODA RED into my designs. Not only can they balance new furnishings (and often new construction) by feeling more established, but the pieces emanate a sense of rich history, often leaving you wondering where they were in a previous life. These beautiful pieces carefully hand-selected by the team at PAGODA RED, coupled with their unbelievable customer service, make them a must-have for any home.”
