These exquisite display stands are crafted out of red sandalwood, which is often referred to as zitan by Chinese artisans and collectors. The trees are very rare and grow slowly, making zitan furniture expensive and extremely difficult to find and therefore highly collectible. Although these stands were made within the last 70 years, the Beijing workshop that carved them also conserves much earlier zitan furniture. The intricate lotus and vine carvings resonate the masterful craftsmanship found in much earlier examples.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
