Dated to the early 20th century, these square corner benches from China's Shanxi province have crisp, clean lines and balanced proportions. Decorative oblong cutouts form the aprons, which flow seamlessly into square legs ending in scroll-form feet. Minimally decorated, the pair has been recently refinished with black lacquer to accentuate their striking silhouettes. Originally used as two-person seating in a kitchen or tea shop, we love these benches today as everyday seating in modern interiors.

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
