A slightly smaller version of traditional tall cabinets, this red lacquer chest honors the clean lines and balanced proportions of classic Chinese furniture design. Originally used for books, scrolls, and general storage, the chest is crafted in the style of sloping-stile cabinets, with a slight A-frame silhouette and an overhung top. The double doors open to a black lacquer interior with two shelves and two shallow drawers. Free of decoration, the cabinet is finished with bright, cinnabar-red lacquer and a large full moon brass lock plate with drop pulls.
