This early 20th century chest from Mongolia started its life as a household storage trunk. Artisans, skilled in traditional carpentry, reconfigured the paneled front into four functioning doors with the original floral folk paintings that represent each of the four seasons. Over time, the character of the wood has developed a rich texture that calls to be touched.
