This rustic wooden stool was carved in Tanzania over 150 years ago out of a single piece of walnut. Looking down at the seat you can see that it was carved out of heartwood—the very core of the tree—and the concentric rings mark the age of the wood. The walnut has aged beautifully over time, with layers of rich character from over a hundred years of everyday use.

“I am particularly fond of PAGODA RED as we have known the family for so long. Betsy is a professional in every way and her intelligent taste comes from a long line of family knowledge in the arts. She and her team are the very best to work with and we find treasures with every visit!”
