This pair of elegant mid-19th century black lacquer cabinets has lyrical scalloped aprons. They maintain their rich original hand-brushed black lacquer finishes, which have developed a beautiful crackle over time. The doors were designed with extended dowels at the top and bottom that ingeniously fit into the cabinets' frames, eliminating the need for distracting surface hinges. The original brass central hardware is in place and was made by hand to contour to the shape of the door frames.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
