This small locking cabinet from the early 19th century has a timeworn texture that only time can achieve. The square-corner cabinet has a streamlined design with straight sides and a minimal, burgundy-lacquer finish devoid of carvings or painted decoration. The dark lacquer finish has beautifully aged over years of use, developing a heavily crazed texture, worn edges and a rich patina. The double-door front is accented only by rectangular brass hinges and a full moon brass lock plate, similarly aged with a dark patina and light oxidation. Ideal as a nightstand or side table, the small cabinet offers plenty of storage with a single interior shelf and a shallow lower drawer for odds and ends.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
