This elegant pine table is from Shanxi Province in China and probably once sat in the study of a Qing Dynasty scholar. The long, narrow design would have been ideal for contemplating calligraphy scrolls or paintings. It was carved over 150 years ago but the dramatically curved legs, traditional joinery, and crackled red lacquer finish all gives the table a unique, timeless beauty.
