Shallow Altar Table with Hoof Feet

This 19th century shallow table from Shanxi Province features humpback stretchers and legs ending in hoof feet. Its original lacquer surfaces are smoothly worn and deeply patinated after over a century of use. It is constructed with sophisticated mortise and tenon joinery.
