Wonderfully versatile, stools were used by emperors as well as rural villagers. They were placed in all rooms in a household, but also used by street merchants as they plied their goods and services. This wonderful three legged stool, is likely provincial based on the character of the boldly formed and beautifully aged round elm seat. The simple braces join in the center exemplifying the sophistication of mortise and tenon construction, traditional in Chinese furniture.

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
