A long, narrow table such as this makes for an ideal workspace for contemplating Chinese scrolls and paintings. This Qing-dynasty table was made in northern China over a century ago, but the timeless, linear design fits effortlessly into the modern home. Made of northern elmwood (yumu,) the table has a solid plank top surface resting upon two "saw horse" style trestle legs. Trestle tables have a simple, collapsible style that has been popular in the West for centuries. The practical design influenced Chinese furniture makers who adopted and refined the style. We love this painting table for its clean lines and minimalist design.
