This 19th century cabinet from Shanxi Province with long and slender doors fully expresses the elegant unadorned simplicity of traditional Ming-style furniture. It is made with mortise and tenon joinery of elm wood, gathered from the forests in Northern China. Its original lacquer has aged beautifully over time and the original handmade brass hardware is carefully positioned to create a centered calm.
