This 19th-century rounded jar is glazed in the classic blue-and-white manner, painted with an all-over pattern of trailing vines and lotus flowers. A band of rectangular lappets patterns the base and auspicious ruyi encircle the neck. The hand-painted cobalt blue design remains wonderfully vibrant, in striking contrast to the bright white field.

Original lid has been lost.
