Marvelously organic in form and exhibiting a rich patina, this zoomorphic lobed vessel shows many telltale signs of Pre-Columbian pottery. The hand-painted patterns and red clay have faded beautifully over time, adding a rich depth to the colors. This jar is one piece from a collection of trade objects we recently acquired from one of our favorite artists. During his travels around the world, he purchased items whose stories, forms, finishes and culture would go on to inspire his later work. From that larger collection, we curated spirited items that inspire us and highlight the cross-cultural nature that defines PAGODA RED's design aesthetic.
