This fantastically shaped Lingbi stone once held pride of place in a scholar’s studio. It's evocative hollows, gnarls, and fluid appearance give it stature in the realm of select stones that inspired Chinese poets, painters and calligraphers for centuries. The arched, open form and organic texture connects it to a traditional moon gate, an ancient Chinese landscape element. A moon gate is a garden sculpture that rises up out of a landscape, symbolic of renewal and birth. A hand-carved rosewood base completes the circle and ripples in harmonious response to the stone’s dynamic form.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
