Mottled Jade Bi Disc

Jades have been cherished for thousands of years. Its supposed mystical properties were believed to preserve the body and soul. Celadon stones, like this one, were particularly valuable in ancient China; artisans even tried to duplicate this natural color in their green glazed ceramics (also called celadon). Shaping this hard stone takes considerable skill and patience. This mottled green and white disc is particularly striking in its custom mount (4.5" between disc and mount).
