Blue & White

Developed during the Yuan dynasty (1271–1368 AD), blue-and-white underglaze porcelain was painted with cobalt pigments imported from Western Asia, made possible by the open trade routes of the Silk Road.

A favorite of the imperial court, blue-and-white porcelain quickly gained world-renown and became a popular and far-reaching export.
