In ancient China, pillows were thought to guide and influence a person’s dreams, which were important because they were believed to influence your waking life. The design, color, material, and shape of a pillow were all specially chosen and had significance. This porcelain pillow, made over a hundred years ago in Southern China, would require the sleeper to rest in a specific position considered to be better for the body. With a wonderfully sculptural form, we like to see these curious cubes rich with history alone or in groups as sculpture, bookends and even beneath other objects to add height and dimension.
