This upholstered dining chair wonderfully recreates the delicate, feminine seating of 17th and 18th century European furniture, designed in the style of Venetian Rococo and Louis XV. Dated to the early 19th century, the chair has a padded seat and back of curvilinear shape, set within a sinuously carved wooden frame. The front legs have a slight cabriole shape and beaded edges carved with abstract flourishes. The beaded trim is repeated on the chair backs, decorated with floral swirls and scrolled details. The wooden frame is finished with green paint and a gilt trim, now significantly worn for a wonderfully aged texture.

From the collection of Frances and Gary Comer.

Individual chair dimensions vary slightly. Reupholstered. Minor staining and wear to fabric. Green paint color similar to Benjamin Moore #629 #630 & #567.
