Twin Attendants Trunk Table

Cloud-shaped latches adorn this camphor wood trunk from the turn of the century. Camphor is prized not only for its beautiful grain and rich color, but also for its aromatic nature and its remarkable ability to keep its contents, such as knits or linens, fresh. The broad proportions of this trunk are unusual and unlike many of the taller camphor trunks of the late Qing era. With low and deep proportions, this trunk required two attendants to move it—explaining the two handles on each end instead of the usual one. We've elevated the trunk on a custom steel mount to turn it into a stunning coffee table or side table.
