This large, early 20th-century hand mirror is set in a fine hardwood frame decorated with mother-of-pearl inlay of flowering vines. The handle is decorated with plum blossoms and a bat with outstretched wings, a symbol of joy and happiness. Each piece of shell is unique in color and texture with a glimmering, iridescent finish, making it a one-of-a-kind decorative material.
