Glazed Floral Relief Jar

This large glazed jar was hand-crafted in Shanxi province over a century ago. Masterfully sculpted, the jar is patterned in high relief with delicate blossoms beneath a boldly textured rim of spiral, bead, and rope-like motifs. A rich brown glaze drips into every crevice, accentuating the dimension of the high relief design and setting off the jar with a glossy surface.
