Square Stool with Woven Rattan Top

Although a common item in homes of all means, the relatively high stature of this 19th-century stool indicates its owner was of equally high standing. Made of richly grained elmwood, the stool has a refined design with subtle hoof feet and an inset woven reed top. More portable than a heavy chair, the stool would be brought out for mealtime seating or placed outside as a garden or courtyard perch. Its seating potential aside, we prefer it as the perfect cocktail table.
