This large water pail conjures up images of the water-bearing figures commonly illustrated in Chinese scroll paintings. Used for ferrying water, this Qing-dynasty bucket draws attention to the ingenuity of its manufacture, consisting of staves of locust wood bound with iron rings. Authentically rustic, the beautifully aged pail adds lovely contrast to a formal garden or contemporary bath.
