The traditional squared lines of Ming furniture are given a distinctive curved flair in this late 19th-century provincial stool. A narrow seat is supported by four splayed legs that flare outwards with a natural bend. Resembling the Chinese character for the lucky number eight, the curvature of the legs animate the rustic stool for a dynamic and fluid form.

Old repair to split on one leg.
